DIGITAL DESIGN TOURNAMENT 2010

Cut&Paste 2010: Show&Prove

Are you ready to bask in the spotlight as one of design’s best?

The time has come for Cut&Paste to begin the 2010 Tour with the latest installment of the Digital Design Tournament. This year we pit the best of 2D, 3D and Motion Design competitors in live battles through 10 cities worldwide. With tour stops in Asia, South America, North America and Europe–all before pulling together the most talented finalists for the New York finale– this is an international showdown you won’t want to miss.

For the second year running, the Global Championship in New York will spotlight winners from all ten cities in every category, 2D, 3D and Motion Design, to duke it out on one stage and be crowned the victor. This is the Cut&Paste design battle royale that launches designers into the spotlight.

Cut&Paste will again be the event of the season, and will extend the competitive energy into the crowd, with Audience Design Contests set across the global shows. Each event will feature a variety of locally-curated contests offered in each city. Each event will also feature a special global contest hosted by Converse.Everyone deserves a chance to take on the world.

How does Cut&Paste cram all the creativity into one night? Here is the rundown of an evening of design at epic proportions:

  • Doors will open with a Cut&Paste Meet&Greet, allowing the audience to mingle and get acquainted with the evening’s events
  • The main event begins with two preliminary rounds of 2D competition, with 4 competitors facing off in each heat
  • The 3D competition continues the action, followed by the Motion Design finals
  • 2D finalists return to the stage for their final round of competition

Total run time for the event will be under 3 hours

Don’t keep that talent to yourself, find out when Cut&Paste will be coming to your city and how you can become part of the action. Stay tuned for news updates by signing up for our mailing list and joining us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest reports and registration information.

AUDIENCE DESIGN CONTESTS

Standing in a crowd and watching the stage heat up is fun, it’s true. But surrounded by a thousand other people expressing their approval, shock, or dismay as the competitors’ flashes of brilliance and moments of indecision keep the audience in suspense—well, you might wonder just how hard or how thrilling the challenge really is.

Create your own speed design in the Audience Design Contest. Offered by our sponors in 2D and 3D categories to let you feel the pressure of our competitors on the big stage. This years contests are now global—you against the world. So whether you put some polish on it or keep it gritty, charm us with a clever concept or serve up the sickest example of pure artistry to be done at light speed, make it look good. Those hyperactive minutes might win you a nice slice of prize.
