The San Francisco design community blew us away once again, with Tom Gurka as the 2D champ, Anh Nguyen taking the 3D crown and Rigel Bowen taking the Motion/Animation championship title. Andrew Nilsen was awarded as runner-up in the 2D competition.
It seems like yesterday. 5 years and 4 tournaments later, Cut&Paste holds its fifth anniversary in San Francisco. We’re bringing the Design For Clean Water Audience Design Challenge powered by Adobe Ideas, and hosting a new Mess With Jess Audience Photo Design Challenge using HP EliteBook Mobile Workstations. With J-Boogie on the turntables again this year, we’re setting up stage at Mezzanine in SOMA for a more intimate environment. Keep reading and we’ll see you there!

Cut&Paste Helsinki – the 2012 World Design Capital – rocked our 2011-12 tour. The evening concluded with 2D winning title going to Jonathan Ben-Ami, 2D runner up Annika Alhokankare, 3D Champ Robin Grotenfelt, and Motion/Animation Champ Henrik Axlund!
We wrapped up Cut&Paste Berlin 2012 with winners Acci Baba, Armin Keplinger, and Leo Marthaler advancing to compete at the Global Championship in New York! Daniel Kupr (Aargh!) came up close as the runner up in the 2D competition.

Cut&Paste made a stop at DETOUR 2011 to host a “Play Date” with the Hong Kong design community. During Playdate @ Detour, Tat Chan, Jonathan Jay Lee, Telephone Fung and Jack Lee showed what it meant to them to use less rather than being useless, with Telephone Fung winning this special event.
December 10th, Cut&Paste returned to Seoul, experiencing new faces, excellent Show&Tell presentations, and unique audience challenges by Adobe and Grolsch. Taking the crowns were Giseok Cho (조기석) in the 2D competition, Moonjung Jang (장문정) in the 3D competition and Sujin Yang (양수진) in the Motion/Animation competiton.
On November 9, 2011, Mexico City was able again to rock our socks off with some amazing designers and Mexico City Champs Alejandro Tello Perez (2D), Erick Sakal (3D) & Orlando Peña (Motion/Amimation) who will go on to compete in the 2012 Global Championship. Designer, Cut&Paste Alumni and New York 2006 Champ Guillo Echevarria will be showing new work at the Repetition Repetition Repetition art show opening this Friday, December 9, 2011. On November 15, 2011, Cut&Paste and Monorex teamed up to give 4 graphic designers/illustrators a chance to face off at Starwood Hotels’ ALoft London Excel’s launch event.
