Moving through the 2011-2012 tour, we’d like to announce some date changes to two of our upcoming events. We owe our audience the highest quality show we can deliver and these new dates will allow us to do just that!

As a supporter of creative designers around the world, Cut&Paste is also a supporter of intellectual property rights. Cut&Paste made a stop at DETOUR 2011 to host a “Play Date” with the Hong Kong design community. During Playdate @ Detour, Tat Chan, Jonathan Jay Lee, Telephone Fung and Jack Lee showed what it meant to them to use less rather than being useless, with Telephone Fung winning this special event.
December 10th, Cut&Paste returned to Seoul, experiencing new faces, excellent Show&Tell presentations, and unique audience challenges by Adobe and Grolsch. Taking the crowns were Giseok Cho (조기석) in the 2D competition, Moonjung Jang (장문정) in the 3D competition and Sujin Yang (양수진) in the Motion/Animation competiton.
On November 9, 2011, Mexico City was able again to rock our socks off with some amazing designers and Mexico City Champs Alejandro Tello Perez (2D), Erick Sakal (3D) & Orlando Peña (Motion/Amimation) who will go on to compete in the 2012 Global Championship. Designer, Cut&Paste Alumni and New York 2006 Champ Guillo Echevarria will be showing new work at the Repetition Repetition Repetition art show opening this Friday, December 9, 2011. On November 15, 2011, Cut&Paste and Monorex teamed up to give 4 graphic designers/illustrators a chance to face off at Starwood Hotels’ ALoft London Excel’s launch event. Flash Entertainment teamed up with the founders of Cut&Paste to bring this growing phenomenon to the Middle East for the first time, as part of the exciting new events that were unveiled on the Abu Dhabi Corniche during Yasalam 2011. After two rounds of intense design, Rafael Gregor Valencia, A.K.A ‘Digital Addict’ and Dubai based graphic designer, walked away with the crown.

On September 21st at the Soho House New York, we held our first Qualifier event of the 2011-12 season. Designers in 2D & 3D stepped to the plate and swung hard. We saw a lot of smokin’ designs, but one candidate connected with us and has been early selected to compete in the 2D Competition on October 28th.Ray Wong of Intricate Concepts donned his headphones and tackled the theme of “Mythical.” Check out the video of his clean technique.
